Organized in collaboration with Ella Dawn McGeough and Stefana Fratila, Hunter’s Castle was the inaugural exhibition in Hunter’s Castle, a DIY exhibition space in Tkaronto/Toronto. The space reintegrated Steele’s earthship windows into somewhat of a relational aesthetic project of a much gayer degree. Community members were invited into a medieval womb of glowing stained glass turrets, metalwork, floral glasswork, lesbian poetry, and a fresh harvest feast. Readings by Tiziana La Melia, Claire Geddes Bailey and Suvendrini Lena were lit by the setting sun. Dusk was welcomed by a multicoloured fire projection-mapped throughout the space, ushering in evening festivities including the sharing of cake and lighting tentacular candles.
